Manq’a awaits you in his new home with a renewed menu

The proposal, in addition to the offer of lunches and dinners, includes food on the go, cafeteria and artisan bakery.

(La Paz, December 2020). – The Manq’a social restaurant reopens its doors to meet again with their little houses who, in recent months, have missed the proposal of these young people who are passionate and committed to Bolivian cuisine and gastronomy.

To the joy of its followers, Manq’a returns with new offers in a new space that will serve as a meeting point for the Bolivian family.

The social restaurant, which was previously located on Sánchez Lima Street, in the bohemian Sopocachi neighborhood, will now operate in an even more strategic location, on October 20 avenue, in house 927, between Pedro Salazar and Belisario Salinas streets. number 927, in front of Plaza Avaroa, in a space that will highlight the Bolivian cultural heritage and that will bear the name of: ‘Mercado Central’.

The new location becomes an excellent excuse to share with loved ones, have business meetings or simply spend a pleasant time with good food and good friends.

The menu will include the dishes most requested by the Manqa caseritos, such as the keperí or the enchichado chicken, as well as the weekly proposals for lunch. In addition, from this new phase, Manq’a Restaurant will incorporate a 5-step tasting menu, which will take a tour of the different Bolivian ecological floors.

The offer will also be expanded with a new cafeteria and bakery line that will extend customer service hours, offering new Manq’a products where typical offers of the city will be presented, such as traditional breakfasts, juices and hot drinks such as succumbé.

“All this, with the same social focus as always and with the energy and smile of our young Manq’a”, highlighted the Regional Director of ICCO Cooperation, Conny Toornstra.

The Manq’a project was born in 2014 with the desire to revalue the Bolivian food heritage, and in order to promote education and employment opportunities for young people from peri-urban and rural areas in Bolivia.

This initiative, promoted by ICCO Cooperation and Melting Pot, has trained, in the last five years, more than 4,300 young people as gastronomy technicians; it works with more than 200 producer families and has generated more than 2,000 jobs. In addition, it managed to promote better healthy eating habits in society.

Given the quality and experience that young students acquire and, in order to give sustainability to the project, in 2019, the schools installed the first social restaurant in Bolivia. In this, the young graduates had and have access to a decent job that promotes their life projects.

In its short time in operation, the restaurant has received various awards. The latter corresponds to the prestigious ’50 Best Restaurants’ list that recognizes year after year the best 50 restaurants in the world, and which has created the special list: ‘The Spirit of Latin America’, an unranked collection of local hero restaurants, They embody the culinary spirit of the region.

This year, Manq’a Restaurante is part of that important selection that chose the La Paz restaurant for its work and social commitment; and for its gastronomic offer and quality.

Manq’a restaurant awaits you, with renewed spirits and the usual quality. It will open its doors from Saturday, December 5; between 7:30 am and 9:00 pm, Monday through Saturday; and from 8:00 to 18:00, on Sundays.
